With the aim of stabilizing prices of major consumer goods, EIIDE has purchased from abroad 16.5 million liters of edible Palm oil from Djibouti and distributed through the enterprise's sales branches at reasonable prices. Ethiopia is one of the largest importers of edible oil in Africa due to its growing population and increasing urbanization.
So far, EIIDE has collected more than 2.39 million liters of edible oil from the Andode railway station through railway cargo. The cooking oil is distributed according to the quota issued by the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration for the regions, and the enterprise has distributed it in 31 sales branches located under the central, western and southern districts.
